Tips on Tuesday

Have you ever noticed the difference when you get closer to your subject while taking a photo? It eliminates the busy background(or just boring background) and brings the viewer's attention straight to the subject, which is, after all, the reason you are taking the picture.

For those pictures where you just can't get closer, there's always the option to crop. I am a cropping machine--I cut out as much as I can so that the subject takes up most of the photo. It gives the photo an all new sense of feeling, and really makes it pop when you put it into an album!

So this week, try getting closer to your subject and see how it improves your photos! Feel free to post your shots over on my Facebook page!

Wednesday Ramblings

I often get asked "How do you like working from home?" In short, I LOVE IT! I get to take care of my son while working! I get to put as much time and effort into my business as I want. If one week I want to do more, I call a sitter and do more work. If I want a few days off because I'm sick, or my son is sick, or I want to get away for a couple days, I CAN DO IT! No answering to a boss or corporate policies!

The best thing about working from home? I still get to be the primary caregiver, I am seeing all of his milestones, all while bringing in some extra income for our family. What could be better?! I also love the fact that when I do home parties, I get to "escape" for a few hours and have some adult time, which is something I missed while I was just a stay-at-home-mom.

I started with my first Direct Sales company when I was a full-time student and working 3 part time jobs. I was able to work around those schedules and do my business when I had the time. When I was a mom and became a Creative Memories Consultant, I was able to work around my family's schedule and determine how much time I wanted to spend away from my son.

It is a great opportunity with unlimited potential!

Lots of Changes!

I am going to get back into this blogging thing. I was just put on modified bedrest this past week, so I need something to keep me busy while sitting on the recliner most of the day!

Creative Memories has been known as a pioneer in the scrapbooking industry. A lot of times, this fact scares people. So we are now focusing on Photo Solutions. We still have scrapbooking products, but we also have simple, quick solutions for people who just want to get their photos in a simple album or display.

So, I will begin posting photo tips that everyone can use. I will post about ways to celebrate your photos even if you "don't have the time" or "aren't creative enough".

Stay tuned! I will be updating every couple days from now on!
